Puppy Photos - Jammer x Clover Puppies - 3 Weeks Old

Many breeders name their litters in alphabetical order or choose themes for their puppy names. I have done both in the past. However, this litter was the first since I remarried, so I let my stepson, Quin, and husband, Richard, help name the pups. They chose mostly names from the Disney film "Lilo & Stitch," the Harry Potter books, and one extracted from Quin's full name, QuinnehTUKqut (the Native American name for Connecticut where Quin was born).

Week 3 Report

All of the puppies have their eyes open this week. They are starting to sit up, bark, bite each other, and walk a little better (still quite wobbly). The puppies' colors are becoming more obvious. As they grow and their muzzles stretch out to a more corgi-like shape, their white facial markings will also stretch out and look more narrow. The pups personalities are slowly starting to develop. Richard and I hold and play with them every day. We also trim their toenails every few days. The puppies teeth are starting to come in, so we will start offering them puppy gruel this week. They will continue to nurse as long as Clover (momma) wants to keep nursing them.
