Puppy Photos - Jammer x Clover Puppies - 4 Weeks Old

Many breeders name their litters in alphabetical order or choose themes for their puppy names. I have done both in the past. However, this litter was the first since I remarried, so I let my stepson, Quin, and husband, Richard, help name the pups. They chose mostly names from the Disney film "Lilo & Stitch," the Harry Potter books, and one extracted from Quin's full name, QuinnehTUKqut (the Native American name for Connecticut where Quin was born).

Week 4 Report

All the pups have teeth this week. Their teeth are very sharp (like needles) and poor momma Clover has all but given up nursing them. She still goes in with them to do "clean up" duty and she may let them nurse for a minute or two . Diana and Richard have taken over feeding duty by offering the puppies gruel several times a day. The puppies are all walking fairly well now and have started taking an interest in playing with toys and each other. They bark at one another and our older dogs and they bite one another when they play.
