Week 8 Report

This week the puppies turned into gremlins - that is, they destroyed everything they could get their teeth on. We knew it was time to take up the plastic floor covering, vinyl, newspapers, and the puppy pen and move them into individual crates.  Richard set up the panels of the puppy crate in the backyard around the picket fence so that the pups could not escape. Now  their routine is to rest/sleep in their crates and play outside in the yard or in the kitchen when it is too hot outside. They are learning to go to the bathroom outside, but still any place will do. A couple of them have already learned to use the big dogs' pet door. Houston was the first to figure out how it works and Dallas wasn't far behind. One of their favorite things to do now is to lay on the floor registers/air vents to cool their bellies. 

Due to the birth of our son, Sean last Wednesday 7/16, Richard and I are quite tired. So, there are only snapshots of the pups this week playing in the yard. They are cute photos and, I think they show the pups' personalities quite well. Maybe next week we can do side shots again. In a couple of weeks, some of the puppies will be going to their new homes. Hopefully, they will be well on their way to being housebroken by then. 

It has been a while since we weighed the puppies because they are obviously healthy and their growth isn't a concern any more. However, for curiosity's sake, here are their current stats:
