Bryndir (pronounced brin Deer, where the r is rolled - if you
can do that - "brrrindeer") is a fabricated Welsh word translated loosely as "hill country."
Austin, Texas where Bryndir began in 1994, is in the very heart of the Texas Hill
Country. Austin is a beautiful, lush, enchanting place, located in the
central part of the state. In the year 2000 Bryndir moved to the wide open
spaces of a northwest Texas town called Abilene. This part of the state is
referred to as the Big Country. However, I decided it was best to keep the
original kennel name to avoid confusion --
rather than changing it to Mawrdir (Big Country).

Diana McLamore is the sole owner of Bryndir Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
Diana has been breeding and showing Cardigan Welsh Corgis since 1994. You
may find AKC registered Bryndir Cardigans with the breeder name listed as Diana
McLamore (newly married name), Diana Ezell (previously married name) or
Diana Lambiase (maiden name). All Bryndir Cardigans registered since the year
2000 list Diana McLamore as the breeder. At Bryndir, the philosophy is that every Cardigan Welsh Corgi should be both a
loving and devoted pet as well as a quality representative of the breed
standard. The Bryndir breeding plan focuses not only on excellent conformation,
but also on proper temperament and socialiation. Bryndir has had the good fortune
to build our kennel with some wonderful dogs and bitches from
well-established bloodlines including Vestavia,
Coedwig, Spectrum, and Reese
Corgis. If you are considering bringing a Cardigan
into your life, you should read and learn about the breed. A great
place to do this is the Cardigan Welsh
Corgi Club of America (CWCCA) web site. There you will find a General
Description of the breed, Breed History information, a list of Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ), a copy of the official American Kennel Club (AKC) breed standard, and much
more. I got my first Cardigan in 1994 from Red Oak, Texas (just south of
Dallas) from Darlene Wright whose kennel name was Bearwood. I knew nothing about Corgis or Cardigans at
the time except what I had read on the internet. That first Cardi's name is Ch Bearwood's
Highland Lad (call name Angus). Angus' father was Ch Zircon Jack of Hearts,
ROM-B, CD. Angus was the first dog I ever showed. I finished his AKC
Championship and was hooked. My second Cardigan was Canfield's Thea Miko (call
name Thea) who I bought from Bill and Liz Patterson in Houston, Texas. Thea's
mother was Ch Rosedale's Louisiana Blues, ROM-B. Thea produced 3 litters out of
which came my first 2 homebred Champions, Ch Bryndir Pure Java Man (call name Kona) and
Ch Bryndir Chocolate Kissed (Mocha). My current stud dog, Ch Vestavia Bryndir
Pure Energy, ROM-B (call name Jammer), is their sire. And the rest, as they say, is history . . . Click here to
see some photos of the First Bryndir
Cardis.
